Debitage: Waste material produced during knapping, including flakes and chips.

Core: The main stone from which flakes are removed.

Preform: An early stage bifacially flaked stone that is being shaped into a tool.

Bulb of Percussion: A convex area indicating where the force was applied.

Platform: The area on the core where the flake was detached.

Cortex: The original outer area of the stone.

Biface: A stone tool worked on both faces.
